Halfway is still early — this page describes how we handle data today, and we’ll update it as the product grows.
What we collect
If you join our early-access list, we store the email address you give us so we can let you know when Halfway launches.
When you use the halfway-point search, the two locations you enter are sent to Google to convert into coordinates and find nearby places — see “Third parties” below. If you’re signed in, we save that search (the locations you entered and the places we found) to your account so you can look it up again. Signed-out searches aren’t stored anywhere by us.
Third parties
We use Google’s Geocoding and Places APIs to turn addresses into locations and find nearby places, and Supabase to handle sign-in and store saved searches. Both only receive what’s needed to do that job.
How we use it
Your email is used solely to send you updates about Halfway. Saved searches are used solely to show them back to you when you’re signed in. We don’t sell your information or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
Cookies & analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they view — it doesn’t use cookies or collect anything that identifies you personally, just aggregated counts. Signing in does use a cookie, to keep you signed in between visits.
